My dear,

By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve.

Oh, they’ll have you working alright. You’ll get all the promotions you wanted, all the perks, all the office-fame, and as much money as they can throw at you. As long as you continue working 12 hours a day. And next year, you better get that up to 15 hours.

Good luck.

I’ll be busy here being jobless and unemployed. Oh, such a horrible position I’m in – I sleep in all morning, I work on what interests me all afternoon, and I party all night – the tragedy!

The horrors of the unemployed and happy are nothing compared to those of the employed and miserable.

Falsely yours,
