My dear,

Solitude is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only being who knows he is alone.

And in this lies how man learns not to be alone.

For who can say the truly appreciate food until they’ve felt hunger? Who can say they know poverty when they’ve been taken care of all their lives? Who can say they know gain without loss? And love without pain?

So too can only man know the pleasure of being with the other, because man is the only being who knows he is alone.

Falsely yours,
