My dear,

Our culture has turned up all sorts of people who call themselves generous for giving money and possessions to the poor. But I ask you are they really being generous? Are they really being generous when they get recognition for being generous? And are they really generous when, by being generous, they get to be part of this exclusive group of people who are wealthy enough to give their possessions away?

No. Those people aren’t practicing true generosity.

Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out.

Real generosity doesn’t require all eyes to focus on it.

Falsely yours,
