If you keep saying things are going to be bad, you have a good chance of being a prophet.

And same goes if you keep saying things are going to be good.

The point being that people only listen to the people who stand at extremes.

Nobody ever pays attention to the woman saying that things will be bad, then good, ad infinitum. Nobody ever listens to the man who says that bad and good are relative terms and that they will of course happen forevermore throughout history. No, people would rather here the words of the beings at the passionate extremes rather than those of the ones in the calm middle. People would rather here comfirmation of their current beliefs that either Earth is either Hell or Heaven, no one wants to listen to the person that says that Earth is Earth.

Your choice is simple, preach the extremes and be famous, and be wrong half the time; or preach the middle, and know you’re right, but unheard.
