Every next level of your life will demand a different you.

A whole different version of yourself. Life is filled with a series of plateaus, each higher than the next. And if we really look up at the next level, standing where we are today, what we’ll see are our future selves, smiling – waiting for the current us to grow and catch-up. And on and on, until we reach heights we could never dream of.

So when you feel yourself change, let yourself change. Don’t hold yourself back, do not stay still in fear or something similar. Grow. It’ll be hard but you’ll find that for every drop of sweat you put into becoming a different, better, version of yourself the universe helps you just as much. Honestly, it’s wonderful.

Nobody cares. Work harder.

Everyone is dealing with their own personal troubles day in, day out; hardly anyone has time to care about anything outside of their immensely demanding life. Even when you’re struggling, in pain, broken, nobody cares, not really.

It’s a harsh truth of life. So work harder. Because the only person you can really depend on is yourself. You accomplished something today, good – nobody cares, work harder. You failed miserably – nobody cares, work harder, work smarter. And move on.

Until the lion learns how to write, every story will glorify the hunter.

And don’t ever think the hunter will never embellish themselves, make themselves seem greater, and the hunted lion ever more so deserving of being hunted.

Never will there be tales where the hunter reflects on their own cruelty, their own frail cowardly weakness in having to seek satisfaction in the death of another. Never. For until the lion learns how to talk, how to write – we shall continue to be hunters. Proud as we are, we rule over a land. We make our deeds greater like the Pharaohs claim they defeated entire armies themselves, and like the Greeks we shall hunt lions to extinction.

Education doesn’t sound revolutionary right? It’s been around for ages. But did you know that the most effective way to decrease the drastic population numbers and sexual assault almost entirely is to just simply give all poor women an education?

There’s so many examples of simple everyday things we take for granted that become revolutionary the moment they’re accessible to the poor: libraries, clean water, soap, bread, etc..

Honestly, if you ever hear someone, someone presumably rich who’s trying to sell you something, tell you that something is revolutionary, that it’s the future – where the world is headed, don’t listen unless the poor can afford it.

If it’s inaccessible to the poor it’s neither radical nor revolutionary.

Never themselves, never that.

They must never question their own feet, their own stances in life. It’s the world that’s wrong, never themselves, never that. They must never question their own ear, their own reaction to the world, their own views, their own faiths. It’s the world that doesn’t know, never themselves, never that.

Those who can’t dance blame it on the music.

But the music keeps on playing, paying no attention to those who stand far from the dancefloor, frozen in their own beliefs.

Look around, don’t you find it strange that fashion’s just another term for people dressing like one another? Nothing risqué, everyone’s doing their hardest to fit in and in their struggle they praise others like them, they praise the same people, the mediocre.

And don’t misquote me, when I speak of fashion I’m not just talking about clothes, I’m also speaking of ideas and beliefs.

To the mediocre, mediocrity appears great.

And so the truly great are faced with this dilemma of being seen for monsters, freaks, eccentrics, and misfits. Until that moment when they’re popular enough that they find that everyone’s finally paying attention to them for what they truly are – great. But that’s not the true dilemma, that stems from having to watch as everyone tries to grab a piece of their greatness for themselves by copying them. And they find that everyone’s dressed like them. They are the new fashion, the new mediocre. No longer great, they’re the new “appears great.”

Such is the way.

There are mysteries, yes.

The three great mysteries: air to a bird, water to a fish, humanity to itself.

But how do you look beyond yourself when you’re so… you? How does the fish recognize water when it’s all it’s ever known? How does it even learn to question the great invisible breathe of its life?

I have no answers, but maybe like the bird diving from the tree’s edge for the first time, we have to return to something similar to our youths to find ourselves. To find the answers to the mystery that is us maybe we have to go back and visit a time when we never were, a time when we were not so certain in ourselves. A rebirth of sorts.

But I have no real answers. Great mysteries and their solutions allude me. But I suppose you can’t really trust anyone who says they truly know such things.

Everyone thinks that money and friendship can mix. They can’t. And everyone thinks that they’ll change the rules, that they can personally find a way to mix the two, because they’re either that different or that great. Trust me, we’re all mostly the same, and so the same proverbs apply to us.

Before borrowing money from a friend, decide which you need most.

And before lending money to a friend, decide which you need most.

But don’t let this discourage you, it actually frees you from burdens unseen. When you lend money to friends and don’t expect it to ever be repaid you gain stronger friendships – for they’ll realize that you put them before money, something hard for anyone to just do.
