My dear,

Don’t tell us the sky’s the limit when our footprints are on the Moon.

Don’t try to encourage us that way. We’re smart, we know better.

Instead tell us to reach for the unknown. The unknown that’s far out, and the unknown that’s far in. Instead tell us you’re proud of the hard work and the time we put in, instead of praising our accomplishments. Praise us and our daily struggle, instead of our wins.

Tell us that most people think the sky’s the limit, but that we’re smarter, we know better.

Falsely yours,
Warren Girard Ellis
