My dear,

George Orwell didn’t write Nineteen Eighty-Four so that our leaders would take notes and rule the world. Orwell didn’t write it so that they could become the laziest and most unoriginal dictators in the world. He wrote it so that people like me and you could recognize when our leaders were getting out of hand with their schemes. He wrote it so that we, the apathetic citizens, could take action and start a revolution when the time called for it.

1984 was not supposed to be an instruction manual.

…The schemers and dictators of our world obviously didn’t get the message.

But they forgot one thing, 1984 is long past – our ending won’t be a tragic one (if we do something about it).

Falsely yours,
A. Nonymous
