Art that doesn’t know it’s niche, it’s target demographic, or it’s goddamn business plan. Art without a plan, without a damn, and without a fan.. base, being marketed too.

I’m a fan, personally, of art that sucks at marketing itself.

People don’t like surprises when they’re dancing.

Seriously, don’t interrupt someone when they’re moving and jiving. Stand back, or go away, until they’re done. Then interrupt later.

The last thing you should ever do in this world is interrupt someone who’s found that thin thread of connection with music, with themselves and their body, and with their soul. The thread won’t last long (it never does), but while it’s there don’t cut it short for them. Let them dance. Let.. them.. dance.

Who wants to hear that they need to lose weight? When they can hear that America is too weight obsessed these days, and that all body types are beautiful. Who wants to hear that they need to work hard for their dreams day in and day out? When they can hear that all they have to do is wish for the things they want, and those things will magically come their way through attraction. Who wants to hear that the life they lead is far better than that of at least a million people on this planet, and that they should be grateful? When they can hear that their problems do matter, that they are of the utmost importance, and that someone is working very hard to fix their problems, no matter how small they are, because they matter.

Who wants to hear the truth when they can hear that they’re right?

There’s such an effort to try and explain people.

I once heard someone mention that the reason Adam’s first task in the Bible was to name all the animals was so that he could keep his sanity. That his actions are a portrayal of Man’s need to name and categorize things, unable to comprehend the nameless.

..That’s what I think of every time someone tries to categorize someone as heterosexual or homosexual, Adam’s need to constrain everything within a name just to please himself.
