My definition of a free society is a society where it’s safe for me to be me, and for you to be you, completely.
Where it’s safe to say what’s on your mind, especially when everyone disagrees. Where it’s safe to believe what you believe, especially when everyone else’s beliefs stand elsewhere. Where it’s safe to swim against the current and be perfectly safe from the other fish.
My definition of a free society is a society where it is safe to be unpopular.
