Certainty Is Missing The Point Entirely.

My dear,

Certainty is missing the point entirely.

Be ready to be have your heart broken when you fall in love. Be willing to fail when you chase your dreams. Be open to the fact that all your hard work will not pay off. And be willing to get up time and time again, unsure of ever actually not falling.

If love is certain, you’re not truly in love. If your dreams are certain, then how are they dreams?! If you’re life is certain, you’re not living at all.

Be uncertain. Be unsure. Be scared. For then you’re alive.

Falsely yours,
Anne Lamott
