My dear,
The average man, who does not know what to do with his life, wants another one which will last forever.
A wiser being would ask this man why he makes plans for a second life when the first is wasted so. Why they throw their dreams into the future when the present is a perfectly good place to place them. Why they complain with their mouth, and not their hands – and physically do something about their situation.
A wiser being would ask the average man to ponder a life in which they are given no second chances, a life in which you must grab opportunity at the first sight of it… what would the average man do then?
Falsely yours,
Anatole France
